The Royal High School Club

The Royal High School has been a focus of Edinburgh life for centuries and as such has attracted many visits from celebrities, hosted many events and seen many other notable occasions. These photographs represent a small selection of them, varying form the very important to the very casual

Dr Alexander Adam, celebrated Rector of the High School 1786 -1810, was honoured with a reception on the bicentenary of his death. Held in the newly refurbished Edinburgh University Library, speakers included a direct descendant, and the individuals who curated a splendid exhibition of Dr Adam's and other contemporary artefacts.
